 Going up Meteora through the village of Kastraki, a little after the small church of Virgin Mary of Doupiani and among the mined monasteries of stands on its cramped rock the impressive, distinguished Monastery of Saint Nikolaos Anapafsas.From the balconies of the Monastery, the pilgrim gazes at the monastery of Rousanou to the east and meets the picturesque Kastraki with the Pindus mountains at the background to the south. To the west, one runs over the remarkable ruins of the Monastery of Saint John the Baptist and to the north one can admire the high rocks of the Monastery of Megalo Meteoron. |
